Woven Jacquard Upper

An update from their predecessors, the Mafate Speed 4 now has a single-layer jacquard mesh. This construction allows air to flow freely and comfortably through the shoes, supplying you with a constant level of breathability. The mesh allows cool air to flow throughout the upper whilst, allowing hot, humid air to escape so you can remain cool, dry and comfortable at all times. The increase in airflow creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in and ensures you remain comfortable when your session heats up. The fabrication hugs the foot offering lightweight support whilst strategically placed overlays across the midfoot help to lock the foot down in the shoe keeping you feeling secure and locked in for a stable and supportive fit. Ensuring much-needed support, the overlays also increase durability by protecting both the shoe and the foot from possible damage that may be encountered along the trail. A rubber toe cap shields against hard knocks and bumps and a dynamic tongue has been added to the upper to enhance next-to-skin comfort. This prevents dirt or debris from entering the shoes, whilst also providing ventilation to your feet, for ultimate confidence with every stride. The shoes have a new bolstered heel collar construction, to protect the heel and increase support whilst providing a more locked-in feel. A breathable heel pull tab assists you in putting the shoes on easier and traditional, recycled lace-up construction provides your feet with a locked-in, secure fit so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

ProFly+ Midsole

The Mafate Speed 4 is expertly curated with a new ProFly+ midsole. This brand-new, lightweight, responsive compound provides a more resilient and tuned cushioning for an energised ride. ProFly+ is ideal for this running shoe as it prevents the wearer from feeling weighed down and will keep you feeling light and quick on your feet. As well as this, it absorbs shock and impacts in key areas of the shoe, helping to stabilise the foot and keeping you firmly on your feet. An early-stage meta-rocker resides through the midsole, providing a smooth transition through toe-off. The Mafate Speed 4 is equipped with the lightest and most responsive HOKA foam underfoot.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

Completing the Hoka Mafate Speed 4 is a Vibram MegaGrip with Litebase outsole that ensures traction and grip on varied terrain. This high-performance rubber compound provides an unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity and optimal ground adaptability. The rubber can form a solid bond with the ground beneath to ensure traction and control as you explore the unbeaten path. Zonal rubber placement ensures traction and grip where you need it most, whilst remaining lightweight so you can cut through tough terrain easily. Furthermore, 5mm lugs adorn the outsole to provide flexible and sticky multi-directional traction as you tackle awkward ascents and daring descents. The lugs ensure additional support and stability so you can continue with complete confidence that your footwear will support any outdoor adventure.
